Howdy folks. I’ve been giving some thought to just putting the kibosh on the campaign. It feels like it’s dragging a lot, everyone (self-inclusive) is just enduring the process, and there’s not much real fun being had. I’m sure it’s not all game-related, as I know we have lots of other things going on, and maybe it’s best if we let those things take precedence. Dragging this game to its conclusion is not really the best use of anyone’s time, and at the very least I know it’s exceeding my own capacity for drudgery.

If Alex (when he gets the technological capability) or Brett (if he so desires) wish to finish the DMsmanship of it, as they’ve both done this campaign before, they can feel free to do so; if not and if desired, I can sketch out roughly how the thing is supposed to end if anyone’s curious. Instead, whoever wants to run something next is welcome to take the reins, or we can just throw in the towel and go our separate ways, or whatever.

Let me know – we have three weeks before our next scheduled meeting time, so plenty of time to make decisions.

Clog prompt, kind of

I don’t know why we haven’t been doing this, but I was thinking it might be helpful for us to start doing week-in-review posts, so we can easily reference what happened, what was learned, who did what, said what, etc. So for those of you who would find such useful, or just want some clog XP but don’t as often feel your creative juices churning, here’s a means of it.

I figure it can just be a short summary, but you can do what you like with it, of course. If there are fun or necessary quotes, post those; if there’s a dialogue you’d like to keep track of, you can copy/paste it from the logs. You can be as sterile or as creative as you like with it.

Since Alex has been on vacation and we’ve had various other folks taking breaks or working late and having to miss stuff, we can start by reaching back the past few weeks since we recommenced. I’ve created a new category (“session recaps”), so please use that so we can more easily reference them as time goes by. And if someone posts something and it leaves something out (perhaps you’d like a record of what your character was doing on the side added, or there’s some nuance you think was missed, a conspiracy theory you developed that you don’t want to forget), add it in the comments.

Late on August 18, 2011

Posted by Eisheth - August 12th, 2011

Hello all! Just notifying you in advance that I will unfortunately be about an hour late to next Thursday’s game — I should be signed in no later than 7:15, depending on how the evening goes. I’m really sorry, but it is unavoidable. :(  I’ll keep you posted via text if my e.t.a. changes.

The Sadness.

Posted by Eisheth - July 27th, 2011

So!  I will be late this Thursday (tomorrow) due to my inability to say “NO” to anyone (I will be doing VBS at church until 6:30).  At the beginning of the session, Hollie will be wrapping up an all-nighter spent at the Hall of Records, where she has discovered some information on Nithy’an — and to pay for said information, she has promised to go on a pity date with a horrible icky loser.  See how she SACRIFICES herself for the good of the party?!?!

Anyway, her date is that very night, though if the party deems it necessary to continue its quest for the missing Wemics that night (without her), I totally understand.

See you at 6:45-ish!

Gaming With Sarah

Posted by Eisheth - July 12th, 2011

For those of you who aren’t yet used to gaming with me (and perhaps even for those of you who are), you will find in this link a very useful flowchart that will help you to understand my strengths and limitations re: gaming. You see, I sometimes have issues with my memory…

We, the Un-Chosen

Posted by Melkarion - July 3rd, 2011

As most of you know, JP and a select few others have super-cool gaming plans for the coming week, which RPG debauchery may be commencing AS I TYPE.

For shame.

If you are involved therein, or if you have already made alternate plans for this Thursday (for a given value of “plans” not equal to “sit around plotting bloody revenge”), there’s nothing I can do for you here.  If you, like me, haven’t yet come up with anything solid for Thursday, I have a proposition.  Continued below the break. Hey y’all. Made some minor updates to the site functionality and upgraded to a new WordPress. Lemme know if there are any issues.

Craig’s book

Posted by Boedullus - June 1st, 2011

Some of you know my friend Craig, and all of you’ve heard me mention my infamous DM of past and occasional present. He’s been trying to get into the writing game, and as I know many of you are into the fantasy genre, I thought I’d give him a shameless plug if you want to give his stuff a try.

If you go to his blog, there’s a link at the right to download it, or if you click on the amazon download, you can check out a free sample (about 20% or so) if you wanna whet your whistle before deciding to invest. As an author just starting out, any nudges you can give him are a help, even little stuff like “liking” his blog.

So there ya go, shameless plug. I’ll be checking it out as my summer begins, so I’ll comment back if I find I like it or what have you when there are more specifics to be shared.

Gen Con

This is a thread to discuss events to attend. I’m sure we won’t all go to all the same events together, so please list which ones you’re interested in as well as which ones you’re planning on/leaning heavily towards regardless of other folks’ interest.

Clog prompt

Posted by Boedullus - November 23rd, 2010

For those of you with lots of open time this weekend and wishing to have something Planescape-related with which to fill it, here’s a nice little clog prompt for ya. Describe one of Sigil’s oddities – through a scene, through description, through a dialogue, etc. Most of you have played Torment – in it you see NPCs like O, the letter of the divine alphabet; Death-of-Names, an oracle who knows when people die anywhere in the multiverse; Fhjull Fork-Tongue, the baatezu cursed to be helpful. There are also strange sites, like the Brothel of Slaking Intellectual Lusts, a bordello of conversation; the Smoldering Corpse Bar, renowned for the perpetually burning man decorating the entry way; or the Alley of Lingering Sighs, a city section which is alive and is swollen with the need to reproduce. Your excerpt could be about a person, an event, a locale, a moment in history, or whatever else. If it’s cool and it’s applicable, hell, I may even use it.
